Active Membership: Any person who is employed
as a school principal, assistant principal, at the elementary
or middle level, public or private, in the Commonwealth
or one who assumes the duties of same and has fulfilled
state certification requirements, is eligible for full membership
in MESPA and is entitled to all services. Membership includes
MESPA and NAESP.
Associate Membership: Associate membership is open
to school or district-based coordinators, supervisors, or
directors; assistant superintendents; college personnel;
and other allied members of the profession. Such membership
has all the privileges of a full membership except that
of voting and eligibility in the Legal Benefits Program.
Associate members may join MESPA only or MESPA and NAESP.
Aspiring Principal Membership: Aspiring principals
membership is open to any teacher at the elementary, middle,
or secondary level in the public or private sector in the
Commonwealth who aspires to the principalship and to members
of the MESPA licensure programs. Such membership has all
the privileges of full membership except that of voting
and eligibilty in the Legal Benefits Program. Aspiring principals
may join MESPA only or MESPA and NAESP.
Retired Membership: Association members who have
retired from the profession and are also not working as
administrators may maintain membership in MESPA at a reduced
rate. Retired members may join MESPA only or MESPA and NAESP.
Retired members may also elect to join NAESP as an Emeritus
member, retaining all accrued legal benefits from their
years as an Active member.
