HISTORY
The Massachusetts Elementary School Principals' Association (MESPA) is the largest professional school administrators' organization in Massachusetts.
Formed in 1926 and now serving 1,100 plus members, MESPA remains the only statewide organization dedicated to the unique professional and advocacy concerns of elementary and middle school principals and other educators in Massachusetts schools. It is one of the most prolific professional development organizations in the state and is a Professional Development Provider (PDP) approved by the Department of Education.
The MESPA Technology Center was created in 1994 to: - enhance the professional development offerings for teachers and administrators by helping them to become aware of the role of technology in schools;
- provide information and instruction in a developmental way through communications, workshops, classes, and courses at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels;
- allow educators to be able to integrate technology successfully into their classrooms, libraries, and buildings;
- improve student learning in basic skills, thinking skills, and interpersonal skills;
- help administrators to improve their leadership and organizational skills; and to enhance and restructure the learning environment.
The MESPA Education and Technology Center has a fully functioning
conference and training facility equipped with state-of-the-art
technology, and capable of running Macintosh and Windows platforms.
The function rooms are equipped with powerful LCD projectors,
